I John Johnson of Southampton County Virginia being sick and weak of body, but of sound perfect and disposing mind and memory and knowing knowing that all men must die do think proper to make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit Imprimis: I leave to my loving wife Peninal Johnson One moiety of the use and profits of the planta tion and lands whereon I now live to comprise and include all the lands which descended to me from my father and also all the lands that I bought of John Denson supponded to contain three hundred and fifty seven acres, for and during the term of her natural life or widowhood, also one woman named Patt during life or widowhood. Secondly I give devise and bequeath to my son James Johnson the plantation and lands whereon I now live to compitise and include all the lands which descended to me by the death of my father and also the lands that I bought of John Denson to him and to his heirs and assigns for ever Thirdly I give devise and bequeath to my Son John Johnson the lands which I bought of Ben- jamon Kitchen and William Kitchen containing by estimation One hundred seventy & five acres bounded & described as by the said Kitchens deed to me is and expressed to him and his heirs and assigns forever Fourthly I give devise and bequeath to my Son Jacob Johnson the plantation and lands which I bought of Matthew Wills containing by estimation One hundred eighty & two acres bounded and described as by the said Will's deed to me is declared and expressed to him and to his heirs and assigns for ever Fifthly I give devise and bequeath to my Son Josiah Johnson the plantation and lands that I purchased of Robert Tyler containity by estimation One hundred acres bounded and de_ scribed as by Tyler's deed to expressed to him and to his heirs and assigns for ever Sixthly I give devise & bequeath to my Son Jesse Johnson the plantation and lands on which I bought of David Chalmer Containing by estimation One hundred acres and bounded and described as by the said Chalmer's deed to me id expressed to him and to his heirs and assigns for ever Seventhly I give to my Daughter Rebekah Johnson the Sum of Ten pounds current money Eighthly I give to my Daughter Ann Johnson the Sum of Ten pounds current money Ninthly I give to my Daughter Lydia Johnson the Sum of Ten pounds current money Tenthly I give to my Daughter Alice Johnson the Sum of Ten pounds current money Eleventhly I give to my youngest son who is not named the Sum of Ten pounds current money Twelfthly All the remainder of my state, real personal or mixt in possession remainder or reversion I direct to be sold by my executors hereafter named, and the money arising from the sale thereof after my just debts and legacies are paid I give to be equally divided between my wife Peninah Johnson and all my children and their heirs or assigns.
